Keep good content in your site.Remember content is the king for a good web page.

The main page of your website should load in 8 sec. or less with a 56 kpbs Modem.( According to recent survey conducted by Forrester Reasearch , e-commerce sites are losing $1.1 to $ 1.3 million revenue each year due to customer's click away caused by slow loading sites !!)

Never forget to include META TAGS atthe head section of your HTML code.Search engines need it to index your site.( You will learn more about it in Promotion>Search engine page.

Use simple colors and texts.Make it readable on screen.Colored text on colored background if not wisely used is difficult to read and initiates customer click away.

Use minimum or no animated graphics if you really want to keep them. It not only make your site unprofessional but also make it slow loading.

You must describe in the main page what you are offering .Can you recall your feeling last time when you reached a site and could not figure out what they are selling?

Your site should be easily navigated.Place navigation tags /links at top, bottom and sides.

Keep yhe number clicks required to get from your main page to any other page on your site to four.Ideally it should be three.

There are manyJava Scripts available on the net. Do not use unnecessary Java scripts to spice up your site.It looks unprofessional and make your site slow loading.

Try to avoid banners.They are actually counter productive and make your site slow loading.If you keep them not more than two per page.

Continually update your site by putting new contentsGive your visitors a reason to keep coming back.

Always offer something for free.It may be some information ,Software,New links etc.

Always put contact information some where in tour page.
